Earth and Moon

A lucky combination: a day with strong wind (so the sky is clear and blue), the position of the moon close to the mountain, and the subject is ready to be photographed. Just a touch of polarizer and it’s done. In my humble opinion, a minimalistic set of colors like here results in a stronger image.

Green Lake

I was intrigued by the description of a small lake close to Bardonecchia (NW Italy), called “Green Lake” because it should look green, so I went there to check how much green it was… and it was a lot! The color is caused by a sort of green seaweed on the lake bottom. It is shallow, and the water is very clear, so the color of the seaweed is very, very evident, as you can see here. A wonderful walk in an enchanting valley.

Skyscraper?

Walking in Turin, I passed by chance under the tallest (as for today) private building of the town. Of course it’s small if compared with other skyscrapers (this has 19 floors and is 109 m. high, built in 1931), anyway it stretch skywards if compared with the surrounding blocks. It’s tall enough to play with geometry lines when an image is shooted close and below.

Golden bars

Sunset close to the Turin Politecnico Remote Heating Plant. There was a interesting light contrast between the golden metallic elements (looking like gold bars) and the clear sky.

Frosted leafs

The autumn is leaving space for the winter. One of the signs of this period is the little frost you can find over a carpet of leafs in a public garden. Of course you need to wake up early in the morning to take this kind of pictures, because the frost is very delicate, and it’s quickly melted by the normal temperature of the period.

The new Remote Heating Plant built in the center of Turin (close to the Politecnico technical University), where it’s functionality is coupled with an urbanistic and architectural project. Mostly built in steel, it has a futuristic appearance.
