2012 winter came late, but it was cold and with a lot of snow. I took this picture when snow was falling and the light was low. I like the division in multiple levels, giving an idea about the image depth.

Classical clear sky of a windy day (looking carefully the pin leaf you the wind effect is noticeable), and a classical lighthouse (here in Cap Ferrat, France), results in a classical image, full of colors.

Walking in the Valentino’s park in Turin, I saw that the Monte dei Cappuccini church illuminated by a stratified  storm weather light. Just a bit of  HDR technique to show the impression I got from this view, and here it is.

During a trip to the Mont Blanc, at the Aguille du Midi, I catch my wife staring  at the mountain top from a window in the hallway. The contrast between the outside light and the inside just left my wife image emerging from the dark. It was a lucky shot, done without pose and organization.

… did I already told that the rape flowers are yellow? Well, anyway looks that rape flowers are really yellow! These strongly colored patch among other cultures are a real sign that spring is really started. After a long, cold and dark winter, together to better temperatures it’s a really pleasure to search for some interesting pattern to shoot.

March is a month where (in this part of Italy) the snow in plain is unusual, especially if the snowfall is abundant, so I quickly take this shoot which is an almost natural black and white one, even if not converted in grayscale.

The oblique light which graze the snow make it looking similar to velvet. Light and shadows give the idea of smooth waves. I was impressed by the poetry of the evening light, and I tried to capture it.

A lucky combination: a day with strong wind (so the sky is clear and blue), the position of the moon close to the mountain, and the subject is ready to be photographed. Just a touch of polarizer and it’s done. In my humble opinion, a minimalistic set of colors like here results in a stronger image.

I was intrigued by the description of a small lake close to Bardonecchia (NW Italy), called “Green Lake” because it should look green, so I went there to check how much green it was… and it was a lot! The color is caused by a sort of green seaweed on the lake bottom. It is shallow, and the water is very clear, so the color of the seaweed is very, very evident, as you can see here. A wonderful walk in an enchanting valley.

The Lomçovak (end-over-end tumble) aerobatic maneuver perfomed by the Frecce Tricolori (the Italian military aerobatic team) soloist plane during the  100th anniversary Cameri airport show. The blue of the sky and the spinning shape of the white smoking trail had a good chromatic contrast.
